Jet Fresh Flowers’ Miami Wholesale location had the pleasure of hosting a visit from Stem It Up 2, a collective of esteemed educators from LSU, Clemson University, Virginia Tech, Michigan State, the University of Florida, and representatives from the USDA. Their mission was to delve into the various facets of the cut flower industry, encompassing processes, technology, careers, and more.
Led by the Jet Fresh Sales Captain, Fernando Ortega, the group embarked on an insightful tour of the facility. Fernando expressed his appreciation for the visit, saying, “It was refreshing to meet a group of Professors who wanted to share all the different aspects of the floral industry. They were eager to learn about selling, displaying, and designing flowers.”
The tour began with introductions to our sales team and logistics crew, followed by a visit to the stunning Cash and Carry. Fernando provided an in-depth look at our boutique rose farm, Jet Fresh Flower Growers, highlighting our commitment to floral quality and endless color opportunities.
As they navigated through aisles filled with vibrant Rosaflora Gerberas, Flores Del Este Hydrangeas, fragrant Bijo Sweet Peas, and the towering Great Lakes Gladiolus, the educators had insightful questions about sourcing, distribution, and our international partnerships. The genuine interest and enthusiasm from the professors were heartwarming to see the immediate “That Flower Feeling” smiles spread across their faces.
This visit was an opportunity to showcase our operations and a testament to the educational value and diverse career opportunities within the floral industry.
