Jet Fresh Flower Growers was recently visited by a group of business students from the University of Pittsburgh. The University students toured several companies in the top exporting industries of Ecuador. Jet Fresh Flower Growers was chosen as one of the companies to visit. Due to our reputation as innovators and for their commitment to social responsibility.
During the tour, the students were able to witness the entire production process, from the growing of the flowers to the packaging and shipping. They also visited the newly expanded Post-harvest area. They learned about the company’s state-of-the-art technology for maintaining the quality of flowers.
The students were amazed at the “Rose Tattoos” by Speaking Roses. The technology has the ability to directly print onto the petals at an average rate of 6-10 petals per minute. The Jet Fresh Flower Growers tattoo artist even tattooed the University’s logo onto beautiful yellow roses.
Great discussions were had throughout the tour. A popular topic was the quality of life of Jet Fresh’s employees. Student’s asked about the company’s efforts to treat their team and the surrounding community well. The students were impressed by Jet Fresh’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.
At the end of the tour, the students were treated to a taste of fruits and traditional food from Cotopaxi.
