The Flower Tribute Tour honors countries whose cultures makes a great impact all around the world.
Flowers of Colombia went to the U.S. to share the magic of their flowers through #DiversityThatInspires, an Initiative of Asocolflores and the Government of Colombia. They traveled to New York City where they paid their 2019 tribute to the city that never sleeps.
“Where trends start and are spread throughout the world.”
Three Colombian growers went to New York City to share the “best, most diverse flowers from Colombia” with designer, Kelsea Olivia of East Olivia. Rose grower, Jose Azout of Alexandra Farms, hydrangea grower, Catalina Arango of Flores Del Este and alstroemeria grower, Daniel Velez of Sausuque joined her in the making of this special flower tribute.
Jet Fresh Flower Distributors was approached by Asoscoflores to help coordinate the logistics for over 5,000 stems of flowers from Colombia to New York. We happily accepted as we proudly import a wide variety of flowers from Colombia to Miami, sharing the love for Colombian flowers to our customers in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean.
With these flowers, they created standing creations in her floral studio in upper Manhattan. Then, the installations were placed on iconic areas around the city.
Their goal was to honor an incredible culture full of references in different areas that is also home for the most important movements in culture.
One of the locations they chose is the Shakespeare Garden in Central Park.
“Shakespeare Garden is one of the most peaceful and beautiful corners of Central Park. It is part of a tradition in the Anglo-Saxon countries to create gardens that safeguard William Shakespeare’s legacy, love and passion for flowers and plants,” said Asocolflores.

The New York Flower Tribute Tour also stopped at “The Met” Metropolitan Museum of Art. Floral designer, Olivia laid arrangements in front of the entrance for New Yorkers to photograph with as they received free Colombian flowers.
Flowers of Colombia’s final stop was in the famous Dumbo neighborhood in Brooklyn. An acronym, which stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass; this spot shares its beauty with the Brooklyn Bridge, and is one of the most photographed neighborhoods in the world.
