Farm Fresh Friday
Farm Fresh Friday is back this week with another fresh update from our farm, Jet Fresh Flower Growers, S.A. in Cotopaxi, Ecuador.
New Variety Chart
Since taking over the farm in March, we’ve made great changes to our variety list. Currently, we have 30 varieties available to order farm-direct and from Miami, as well as 10 new varieties that are coming soon.
Several of these new roses were already grafted, and are now growing on our farm; the “House” series roses, “Finally,” “Free Spirit,” “Marvel” and “Sandy.”
Our updated varieties chart includes these new rose varieties, as well as our SAF-winning roses from the 2018 Oustanding Varieties Competition.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is breast cancer awareness month. Jet Fresh Flower Distributors’s breast cancer program, Blooms for Boobs is helping support the fight for the cure with proceeds from pink flower sales. Our pink roses are helping contribute to the proceeds which are being collected this month. Ask your sales rep about all the pink flowers available to support the cause.

New “Sandy” Roses
Last week, the first bunch of “Sandy” was made on our farm. This creamy rose variety by the breeders, Jan Spek Rozen and Contectiflor, was planted in June and is now producing buttons.
“Sandy” is a beautfiful rose for wedding and events. It’s a unique cream variety with subtle hints of mauve that will be a great substitute for “Quicksand” roses.
Greenhouse Update
Over the summer our incredible team built a brand-new greenhouse from the groud-up. The plastic covering was added less than a month ago, and now the soil is being prepped for new varieties. This is our twelfth greenhouse which will house approximately 6 different rose varieties.
